Hi, my name is Owen!

My interest in photography started in Airdrie, Alberta when I was twelve, taking photos on an iPhone 5 just out of curiosity. Those early images weren’t anything special, but they sparked a lasting interest in how moments can be captured and remembered.
In 2019, I got my first DSLR—a Canon SL1 Rebel—which gave me my first real hands-on experience with photography. During the pandemic, I had more time to focus on learning the fundamentals, experimenting with different styles, and understanding how light, timing, and composition work together.
I spent a lot of time exploring my surroundings, often biking across town to find quiet or overlooked places to shoot. That period helped shape how I see photography: paying attention to simple, real moments and finding meaning in everyday environments. Around this time, I began sharing work under OC Photography on Instagram and started working with portrait clients, which helped me develop a more intentional and people-focused approach.
Since then, I’ve continued building my experience across portraits, studio sessions, and weddings. My focus is on creating clean, natural images that feel honest and well-composed, while still reflecting the personality and story of each client.
